Grill Hook, a new twist for turning food. by Meat Turners Price: $13.99 Updated on 7-27-2010.
Product Description
The Grill Hook provides "pin-point" control for turning food on a barbecue grill. It's not only fast and easy but it is also a lot of fun. Using a hook has the added benefit of keeping your hand a comfortable distance from a hot grill (so you barbecue the meat, not your hand).
But "No" you say. "I don't want to let the juices out of the meat by using a hook." Well consider this: more juice can be released by squeezing the meat with tongs than by poking it with a hook.
When you use a hook the sharp stainless steel tips hook the edge of the meat, not the center where the juices accumulate. The point being that the hook will just barely penetrate the meat on the seared edge where the juices have been sealed in.
The Grill Hook provides greater control, even with heavy cuts of meat. Use with ribs, steaks, chicken and tri-tip.
Reader Reviews I live in Boston and been using Hooks for a while now. As a New Englander, we take Bar-B-Qing as seriously as our Southern friends. The Grill Hook is very well made with a solid stainless steel shaft (won't bend if your lifting a big piece of meat!!), it has a solid handle and 2 sharp hooks (meat won't twist & fall off the hooks like the others) to grab onto the biggest piece of meat you have .... can't say that about the other tools I've found at the local stores or on line. It's easy to clean too! I recommend Hooks. Boston Pit master.
